Playing with light!

Ok, so we're bored and we wanted to have a little fun with the camera again. Browsing through one of our older photography books (Photography by Barbara and John Upton [old edition before it was changed back to Barbara London :) ] ) we we're looking over the lighting chapter and trying to remember and re-learn some of the fundamentals of lighting. Following are some of the pictures of us goofing with our lights and the different things you can do with/without 1 or 2 lights, hard or diffused, reflected hard or diffused etc etc. Pay no mind to our casual look. You have to keep in mind what time it is right now :P

I love this shot of Aimee with just one hard light!

New Studio Lights!

Monday morning...woke up still feeling happy about the red pumps experience the night before, we decided to head out to Kamera Korner and check out some studio lights.

We saw this Smith Victor KT-1000u, which has 2 studio lights complete with the umbrellas and the bulbs for $170. We looked at each other and thought...hmmm its not a bad deal...

I told Dustin we had to get them so we can have different lighting and take studio-like pictures. So we did! :) And here are our shots with our casual-clads, messy hair looks. Look on...
Ah yes...the gunguitar pic of Dustin that I took which turned out to be my favorite one :)

Overall, we enjoyed the new lights. Look forward for more studio light projects in the future. Enjoy and let us know what you thought of the pics!

Aimee’s Midnight High-heeled Escapade

Ok, so it wasn’t quite midnight, more like 10-11’ish PM when Aimee got the itch to shoot something artistically expressive. What better object than a pair of fire engine red high heel pumps! So in a half tired and half caffeinated stupor we sprang into action romping about the ol’ apartment complex trying to find interesting places or scenes to setup and shoot the pumps. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun as the flash shot out into the dark of the complex catching passers-by attentions. In short, here are some of the shots we selected to post from Sunday’s evening event. We hope you enjoy looking at them as much as we enjoyed taking them. Until next time!
